![]() I would recommend closing the canvas walls at night, as we left them open and were bit by a few "no-see-ums" (biting gnats) that came through the screens after dark. The Eco-tent property has elevated, lighted walkways to keep you above the marshy ground, and guide you to the bathrooms and parking area after dark. ![]() My son and I chose a tent with two double beds, so we both had a good night of sleep. "Glamping" for sure! We appreciated several of the details: both lightweight and heavy blankets for various temperatures, large screened panels we could zip open or leave closed, and a nice bureau where we could unpack our things if desired. I am not a camper, but this was well within my comfort zone, as the Eco-Tent is more like a canvas-sided hotel room, complete with comfortable beds, electrical outlets, a fan, and soft lighting provided. We booked a single night in the new Eco-Tent portion of the Flamingo Campground so we could enjoy two days of bird-watching in Everglades National Park. The perfect place to compromise between a night at a hotel and camping on the ground! We did a canoe-with-a-ranger trip early on Christmas morning on Nine Mile Pond and it was such an easy drive to get there. It also allows you to explore a lot more of the Flamingo region of the Everglades NP without such a long drive in and out every day. It was quite wet while we were there, so the picnic areas & fire pits weren't utilized, but the quiet and the stars are amazing. There are carts to help you transport your items from the parking spots - there was always plenty of room - to your tent. The tents are connected with raised walkways that are lit at night to give you an easy walk to the bathrooms (we were farthest from the restrooms, but still just a 2-3 minute walk away). Each has comfortable *real* beds, 2 chairs, a few ottomans, and you're provided with nice lanterns and a fan (meaning electricity!). It's as pricey as a basic hotel room, but much more enjoyable. ![]() ![]() As they are new, there were still a few logistical kinks to work out (wrong padlock on our porch screen, missing information about check-out, confusion about towels), but the experience was delightful. Stayed for 2 nights in the new Eco-Tents and had a wonderful time. ![]()
